Privacy policy

Archst is an app for designing a home, estimating what it will cost, and tracking what you spend against that estimate. This policy explains what happens to your information. It is short because very little happens to it.

The short version

Archst has no account and no login. Your home, your budget and every payment you log stay in a file on your own phone. We cannot read them, because we never receive them.

Two things do leave, and only these two:

1. Anonymous usage counts — which screens get opened, and where people stop. No identifier of any kind, no figures you typed. You can switch this off in Me → Rates & privacy.
2. A consultation request — your name, phone number, email and project summary, but only when you fill in that form and tap the button yourself.

You can also tap Ask on WhatsApp to send us a question. That opens WhatsApp with your project summary already typed in; nothing is sent until you press send in WhatsApp yourself.

What we collect

Anonymous usage counts

The app records which screens are reached and which options are chosen, so we can see where the app is confusing and which parts nobody uses. This runs through Aptabase, an open-source analytics service chosen for one specific reason: it issues no identifier. There is no account ID, no device ID, no advertising ID and no cookie, so two of these records cannot be connected to each other, and none of them can be connected to you.

What a record looks like: "someone reached the budget step", "someone picked Kerala Traditional", "someone in the 40–60 lakh band saw their plan".

What is never in one: your name, your phone number, your email, your plot, your budget, or any payment you have logged. Money and floor area appear only as broad bands — 40-60L, 1200-1800 — never as the figure you typed. The app enforces this in code as well as in policy: anything containing an @ or a run of seven or more digits is discarded before it can be sent.

Each record also carries your app version, your operating system version and your language. Aptabase receives your IP address as any web request does, and uses it to derive a country before discarding it.

To turn this off: Me → Rates & privacy → Anonymous usage counts. It stops immediately and stays off, including after you erase your data.

What we do not collect

No advertising SDK, no crash reporting, no location, no contacts, no device fingerprinting, and no profile of you. Archst shows no ads and sells nothing to anybody.

This website

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. It loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as any request for a file does.

What stays on your device

When you use Archst, the following is written to a private database file on your phone, readable only by this app:

• Your project: build type, architectural style, city, plot and floor area, bedroom and bathroom counts, facilities and finish level
• Your budget, your budget lines, and the estimate
• Payments you log: amount, category, date, and optionally who you paid, how you paid, and a note
• Checklist ticks and material decisions
• If you start a booking, the name, phone number, email and message you typed

This file is not backed up to any cloud. Android's automatic backup is switched off for this app on purpose, so your figures are not copied to Google Drive or anywhere else.

What leaves your device

Requesting a consultation

This is the one place Archst asks for your contact details, and the only place they are sent anywhere.

When you fill in the consultation form and tap the button, the following is sent to Archst: your name, your phone number, your email if you gave one, your message, your city, and the project summary shown on that screen — style, size, finish, the estimate band and your budget. We use it for one thing: to contact you about the consultation you asked for.

This is sent when you tap the button, not when you finish booking, so that we can call you back if the booking page does not suit you. If you do not want us to have your details, do not submit the form — nothing else in the app asks for them, and the rest of Archst works without it.

Your phone keeps a copy only until it has reached us, and in every case for no more than 30 days, after which it is deleted automatically whether or not it ever reached us.

Booking the call

After you submit, our booking page opens in a browser window with those details filled in. Booking is handled by Cal.com, a separate company under its own privacy policy.

Paying

Paid consultations are taken on PayU's own hosted page, opened in a browser window. PayU is a separate company operating under its own privacy policy. Your card, UPI or banking details are entered there and go to PayU, never to Archst — the app has no card fields, never sees them and never stores them.

We receive from PayU the fact of the payment, the amount, the method, and a reference number, so we can match it to your booking. After the payment page closes, the app asks our own server whether that payment came through, sending only the reference number your screen is already showing you. The answer is a status and an amount, and nothing else about you.

Asking on WhatsApp

If you tap "Ask on WhatsApp", WhatsApp opens with a chat to Archst and your project summary already written into the message box, so you do not have to retype it. Nothing is sent until you press send. If you close WhatsApp without sending, nothing leaves your phone. Whatever you do send goes to us through WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta under its own privacy policy.

Sharing your plan

If you tap "Share your plan", your phone's own share sheet opens and you choose where the summary goes — WhatsApp, email, or anywhere else. It goes wherever you send it, and nowhere else.

Permissions

Archst requests two Android permissions:

• Internet — to open the booking and payment pages, to send anonymous usage counts unless you have switched them off, and to deliver a consultation request you have submitted. Nothing else.
• Vibrate — for the small haptic taps when you select something or save a payment.

It does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos, files, or any other personal data on your device.

Children

Archst is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone. It is a tool for people building or renovating a home.

Deleting your data

Open Me → Erase everything. That deletes every project, payment, checklist tick and saved booking detail from your device immediately and permanently. Your choice about anonymous usage counts deliberately survives it — erasing your data must never quietly switch tracking back on.

If you have never submitted a consultation request, we hold nothing about you at all, and there is nothing to ask us for. If you have, write to us at the address below and we will delete it — though we may need to keep payment records for as long as tax law requires.

Anonymous usage counts cannot be deleted on request, because there is no identifier with which to find yours — that is the same property that makes them anonymous in the first place.

Uninstalling the app also removes the database file.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
